: A new Rs 54.50 crore green building set up on a 1.47 acre site in the Guindy Industrial Estate here for state-promoted Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) was inaugurated by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today.
Through a video-conference facility from the Secretariat, Jayalalithaa inaugurated the air-conditioned facility comprising nine storeys that includes a conference hall, Labour Commissioner office and head quarters of SIDCO, an official release said.
Besides, some floors have been allotted to government offices on rental basis, it said.

Similarly, the Chief Minister inaugurated a building for the Entrepreneur Development Institute set up at a cost of Rs 5.15 Crore that is equipped with smart class room, hostel for 30 persons, a library and a conference hall.
Separate industrial centres in 14 districts constructed at a cost of Rs 16.25 crore were also inaugurated by Jayalalithaa on the occasion, the release said.
