: Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today ordered modernisation of seven state-run rice mills at a cost of Rs 32.60 Crore.
The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation operates seven rice mills in Thanjavur, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, Coimbatore and Thiruvannamalai districts.
An official press release said the Chief Minister today ordered modernisation of the rice mills.
The initiative would help ensure supply of quality rice to the general public through the Public Distribution System (PDS), the release added.
