Rejecting DMK's charge that she had sent volunteers to Karseva in Ayodhya, AIADMK General Secretary and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today accused party chief M Karunanidhi of repeating lies as Goebbel.

"If Karunanidhi continues to repeat lies in Goebbel's fashion, the DMK chief will meet the same end faced by him," she said here at an election rally likening her archrival to the infamous Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels.

Asserting that there was not even an iota of truth in the charge, she said Karunanidhi had made the same allegation several times before although she had denied it.

"I categorically state that the AIADMK had never sent anybody to the Karseva. Can Karunanidhi say who were all sent by the AIADMK (to karseva)? Whom is he trying to cheat?" she asked.

Referring to another allegation of Karunanidhi that the AIADMK chief was telling "lies" on the issue of granting quota for religious minorities, she said the seed for providing reservation for Muslims and Christians in Tamil Nadu was sown during her regime in 2006.

The State Backward Classes Commission was reconstituted and the subject of quota was brought within the Commission's purview for the first time, she pointed out.

"I had only stated the truth that it was the AIADMK Government which, for the first time, included a provision for providing quota for religious minorities in the recommendation to the commission."

Such efforts led to the provision of quota to minorities later in 2007 (during DMK regime), she added.

On FDI in retail, she accused Karunanidhi of changing colours "like a chameleon", and affirmed that her party was committed to opposing the foreign investment in retail all the time.

"When AIADMK gets an opportunity to evolve policies at the Centre through you by the Lok Sabha elections, I promise you that FDI in retail will be rooted out.
