An official release here said Jayalalithaa would return the same day after attending the seventh Meeting of the CRA, being convened by Centre following its assurances given to the Supreme Court.
Jayalalithaa had been demanding the CRA be convened to highlight Tamil Nadu's demand for its due share of water from Cauvery, even as her government had alleged that Karnataka was using the river's water for its summer irrigation needs.
Her Karnataka counterpart Jagadish Shettar had recently said his government would inform CRA that it would not be possible for the state to release any more water as the state itself was facing a distress situation.
