Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa today paid floral tributes to the portrait of party founder, late M G Ramachandran, as part of celebrating party's 44th founding day here.
Jayalalithaa, staying at Kodanadu, 20 km from here in Nilgiris district, paid floral tributes and also hoisted the party flag after arriving here.
She released a souvenir, as part of the function brought out by minister R Udyayakumar.

Jayalalithaa left for Kodanadu after the function.
In her message to party workers yesterday, Jayalalithaa had urged her supporters to work for a "grander" mandate than all those achieved so far by the party in various elections.
Meanwhile, the Mettupalayam-Kothagiri road was closed for vehicular traffic till 12 PM due to the function, police said.
AIADMK workers in the neighbouring Union Territory of Puducherry also celebrated the party's founding day.
AIADMK Puducherry unit secretary and leader of the legislature wing of the party P. Purushothaman, accompanied by other legislators, garlanded the statue of MGR. Sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
