Jayendra Saraswathi discharged from hospital

Kanchi Mutt senior pontiff Jayendra Sarawswathi has been discharged from a private hospital here after treatment for exhaustion.

He was discharged from Sri Ramachandra Hospital on February 3 and is presently taking rest following the advice of doctors. He is now camping at Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam's "Shakaralayam" premises at Chetpet in the city, a hospital press release said here today.

The Seer was hospitalised on February 2 in Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh after he complained of drowsiness and weakness.

He had gone to Nellore to attend spiritual programmes including performance of a ritual at Chandramouleeswara Swamy temple there.

The 79-year-old seer was shifted to Ramachandra Hospital at Porur near here on Monday.
