JBVNL office assistant arrested while accepting bribe

An office assistant of Jharkhand Bijili Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Burea (ACB) today while allegedly accepting a bribe at Chandil in Seraikela-Kharswan district.

Sameer Kumar Hansda was arrested while allegedly accepting Rs 3000 from Acharya Mahidevanand Awdhoot of Seraikela-Kharswan district, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACB), Amar Kumar Pandey.

The arrest was made on the basis of complaint registered by Acharya Awdhoot with the Jamshedpur Bureau of ACB today.

Following the verification of the allegation of the complainant, which was found to be true, a ACB team headed by Pandey laid a trap and arrested Hansda while accepting the bribe, Pandey said.
 

Handa had demanded Rs 3500 bribe for installing an electric meter.
