The JD(U) today supported Aam Aadmi Party's demand for a Supreme Court-monitored probe by SIT into funding of Congress, BJP and itself to inquire if black money or fund from dubious sources are used in poll.

"JD(U) supports demand of AAP for a SC monitored SIT for checking funds of Congress, BJP and AAP itself," JD(U) General Secretary K C Tyagi told PTI.

The probe would unravel if black money, hawala money of terror fund are used in election, Tyagi said.

Party president Sharad Yadav has defended AAP on the allegation against it that the party received Rs 2 crore donation from sham companies.

He said yesterday that earlier also such cases had happened. During P V Narsimha Rao's time, a diary having names of 61 people including his, were found. But, nothing could be established and all 61 persons got clean chit.

Tyagi and Yadav's statements in favour of AAP is seen in the context of JD(U) support to Arvind Kejriwal's party in Delhi poll.

Senior JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar has already extended good wishes to Kejriwal.
