JD(U) MLA acquitted in a murder case

A court in Bihar's Aurangabad district today acquitted JD(U) MLA Ranvijay Kumar Singh of all charges in a murder case eight years ago.

The Additional District Judge (ADJ) - I Karunakant Sharma passed the order absolving Singh of all charges for want of evidence against him in the murder case of Brijnandan Yadav and another person in 2005.

The judge, however, found another accused Suresh Yadav guilty in the murder case after it was established during trial that the Brijnandan Yadav sustained fatal injuries from a bullet from from his rifle.

The said double murder case had occurred in Hasanpur village during February 2005 assembly polls in which the JD(U) MLA from Goh assembly seat was named an accused.
 

Singh has been behind bars in the case since 2005 and contested the subsequent assembly polls from his constituency from the jail.
