Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Shivanand Tiwari (JD-U) demanded action by Home Minister P Chidambaram against the agencies responsible for such arrests.
Supporting the contention, Ram Kripal Yadav (RJD) said it is condemnable that we are treating Muslims as terrorists.
With members seeking a reply from the government on the issue, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Harish Rawat he will apprise the concerned ministry of the members' sentiments.
Tiwari said the Home Minister had given an assurance that provision 43(B) has been added to the central act UAPA under which the concerned police station will have to be informed from where an arrest is made.
"Several incidents have taken place in which the legal process was not followed. People from IB have picked up (youths) from Darbhanga and other areas as if they were carrying out kidnapping," he said.
He said even after the recent meeting on NCTC, the police of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have picked up many youths from certain areas of Bihar.
Tiwari alleged that the IB picked up a cycle mechanic Shafique Ansari in February. The Bihar DGP has expressed his objection to it in a communication to the Home Ministry while the Chief Minister at a press conference on Monday slammed the arrest of a youth from Darbhanga by Karnataka police, he said.
