Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly today described the budget announced by the Jitan Ram Manjhi-led JD(U) government for the current financial year as a 'bloated and inflated' and said that it would not serve any purpose' for the development of the state.
Nand Kishore Yadav in his speech over the budget, pointed out that there was no name of the Finance Minister in the budget and the state government not paying proper attention to crucial departments as well as the SCs, STs and minorities, reflected its 'insufficiency'.
"The budget saw three Finance Ministers, hence there is no name of the person who tabled it... It is an inflated budget, but there has been no increase in the amount allocated to several key departments.

"The figures show inefficiency of the state government as money allocated for the priority sectors have not been spent," the BJP leader said referring to the budget which was tabled in March, but could not be debated because of the truncated Assembly session due to the general elections.
"There has been no increase in the money allocated to the SCs and STs Welfare and Minority Welfare Departments. They got Rs 857.96 crore and Rs 148.59 crore, respectively, in 2013-14 and the proposed outlay for them is also the same," Yadav pointed out.
"This shows a face of the state government that does not matches with what it speaks about the welfare. The data also shows the government is inefficient and is just pretending about development," he said.
