Jharkhand Disom Party (JDP) today said it will merge with BJP at a simple function to be held in Jamshedpur tomorrow.
A decision in this regard was taken following discussion with Union Petroleum Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, who is also the in-charge of BJP affair in Jharkhand, and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda in Ranchi today, JDP founder President, Salkhan Murmu said.
Addressing a press conference here, Murmu said he had also met Pradhan at Delhi on August 1 and discussed the merger issue with him.

Murmu who was earlier with the BJP, After snapping ties with it in mid-2000, had floated JDP to champion the causes of tribal community and continue his political activities in Jharkhand.
As JDP had failed to perform on political front despite its good work, the party leadership from five eastern states including Jharkhand had a meeting on 6th August and decided to merge with BJP, Murmu said.
The issue was also been discussed with other BJP leaders including its Jharkhand unit chief Ravindra Rai and National Vice-President Raghvar Das, he said adding that Munda will present at the merger function tomorrow.
