One person was killed and
eight others injured today when a jeep overturned near Chakandara chowk under Kochadhaman police station area in Bihar's Kishanganj district, a police officer said.
The mishap took place as an ill-fated Mahindra jeep carrying members of a marriage party overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle, Kochadhaman police station in-charge C.P. Yadav said.
A youth, identified as Md. Hanif (16), died on the spot, while eight others sustained injuries, he said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and the injured persons admitted to Sadar hospital for treatment, Yadav said.
The vehicle was carrying members of a marriage party from Kutti village to Nisandara village in the district, the police officer said.
