Jeera, coriander extend losses on fall in demand

Prices of jeera and coriander fell further by up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on easing demand from retailers against ample stocks positions.

Traders said besides fall in demand from retailers, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions mainly kept jeera and coriander prices lower.

Jeera common and jeera best quality fell by Rs 200 each to Rs 19,200-19,400 and Rs 21,000-21,500 per quintal.

Coriander also eased by Rs 100 to Rs 5,800-11,800 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 120-170, black pepper (per kg) 560-740, betel-nut (kg) 290-310, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 830-850 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 880-1,100.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,125-1,225, cardamom (colour robin) 930-950, cardamom bold 960-980, cardamom extra (bold) 1,080-1,100 and cloves 560-680.
