Jeera edges up on scattered demand

In restricted activity, jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal at the kirana market in the national capital today on scattered demand from stockists and retailers.

However, other spices moved in a narrow range in limited deals and pegged at last levels.

Traders said mild demand from retailers and stockists helped jeera prices to trade higher.

Jeera common and best quality were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 19,100-19,300 and Rs 21,100-21,600 per quintal respectively.

Ajwain (per kg) 125-180, black pepper (per kg) 690-800, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 840-850 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 900-1,125.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,375-1,475, cardamom (colour robin) 1,340-1,370, cardamom bold 1,390-1,420, cardamom extra (bold) 1,500-1,525 and cloves 540-650.
