Jeera prices moved down by 1.05 per cent to Rs 17,010 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators indulged in reducing their positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in April dropped by Rs 180, or 1.05 per cent to Rs 17,010 per quintal with an open interest of 3,411 lots.
On similar lines, the spice for delivery in March contracts shed Rs 80, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 17,310 per quintal in 4,917 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to fall in demand at prevailing levels in the spot market against ample stocks position, mainly led to decline in jeera prices at futures trade.
