Jeera prices declined 0.75 per cent to Rs 15,950 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposure amid weak demand at the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in November fell by Rs 120, or 0.75 per cent to Rs 15,950 per quintal with an open interest of 14,061 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in December eased by Rs 115, or 0.70 per cent to Rs 16,225 per quintal in 4,149 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to sluggish demand at the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on jeera prices in futures trade.
