Jeera prices fell by 0.75 per cent to Rs 15,905 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators reduced exposure driven by easing demand at spot market against adequate stocks position.

At National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in October moved down by Rs 120, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 15,905 per quintal with an open interest of 12,759 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November traded lower by Rs 115, or 0.71 per cent, to Rs 16,190 per quintal in 4,410 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants, owing to slackened domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position, mainly led to decline in jeera prices at futures trade.
