Jeera prices were down 0.77 per cent to Rs 17,420 per quintal in futures trading today as participants trimmed their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on tepid demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in October month fell by Rs 135, or 0.77 per cent to Rs 17,420 per quintal with an open interest of 15,558 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in November contracts traded lower Rs 125, or 0.71 per cent to Rs 17,595 per quintal in 3,000 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand in the spot market, mainly led to fall in jeera prices at futures trade.
