Jeera prices were up by 1.10 per cent to Rs 16,115 per quintal in futures market today as traders enlarged positions on pick up demand in the spot market.
Furthermore, restricted supplies from producing fuelled the upside.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in April month gained Rs 175, or 1.10 per cent to Rs 16,115 per quintal with an open interest of 3,930 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in far-month May contracts traded higher by Rs 175, 1,08 per cent to Rs 16,320 per quintal in 11,922 lots.
Analysts said besides pick up in domestic and exports demand in the spot market, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions led to the rise in jeera prices at futures trade.
