Jeera prices fell further by 0.90 per cent to Rs 17,110 per quintal in futures trade today on speculative selling triggered by a weak trend at spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in March month fell by Rs 155, or 0.90 per cent to Rs 17,110 per quintal with an open interest of 5,559 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in April shed Rs 60, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 17,000 per quintal in 2,778 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by participants on the back of easing domestic well as exports demand at spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly kept jeera prices down at futures trade.
