Jeera futures slide 0.95% on profit booking

Amid profit-booking by speculators and low demand at the domestic spot market, jeera prices edged lower by 0.95 per cent to Rs 13,615 per quintal in futures market today.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in far-month May fell by Rs 130, or 0.95 per cent to Rs 13,615 per quintal with an open interest of 3,702 lots.

In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in March contracts was trading down by Rs 110, or 0.80 per cent, to Rs 13,575 per quintal in 6,498 lots.

Marketmen said besides profit-booking by traders, slackened demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on jeera prices at futures trade.
