Jeera futures trade higher by 0.84% on spot demand

Jeera prices were up by 0.84 per cent to Rs 16,250 per quintal in futures trade today as traders raised their exposure after pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in April month rose by Rs 135, or 0.84 per cent to Rs 16,250 per quintal with an open interest of 1917 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in May month contracts gained Rs 135, or 0.83 per cent to Rs 16,420 per quintal in 15,303 lots.

Analysts said attributed the rise in jeera futures to from a firm trend at spot market on pick up in domestic and exports demand.
