Jeera strengthens on rising demand, tight supply

Jeera prices advanced by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale kirana market in the national

capital today on increased offtake by stockists following pick up in demand against paucity of stocks on fall in supplies from growing regions.

Traders said increased buying by stockists, driven by pick up in demand against tight stocks position on fall in arrivals from producing belts, kept jeera prices higher.

In the national capital, jeera common and jeera best quality rose further by Rs 100 each to Rs 19,200-20,200 and Rs 22,700-23,200 per quintal, respectively.
