Jeera prices were up 0.73 per cent to Rs 15,925 per quintal in futures trade today driven by pickup in demand at the spot market amid decline in arrivals from producing belts.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July rose by Rs 115, or 0.73 per cent to Rs 15,925 per quintal with an open interest of 23,523 lots.

Also, the spice for delivery in August traded higher by Rs 100, or 0.62 per cent to Rs 16,195 per quintal in 7,620 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in jeera prices to pickup in demand at the spot markets against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
