Sahara Force India Academy racer, Jehan Daruvala, who is recuperating from a thumb injury, will compete in various senior European Karting Championships, including German National Championship this season.

Jehan had a successful 2013 season as he won the British KFJ Championship and the 15-year-old from Mumbai this year will compete against older and more experienced drivers across Europe.

Jehan, who recently broke his thumb following a cycling accident during training, is expected to be out of action for a month. He is expected to return to competitive action at the WSK race at Sarno on 22nd and 23rd of March.

According to the F1 team, Jehan is likely to have a two-year programme at the senior karting level.

Jehan did well in the Winter Cup held at Lonato where he qualified 18 out of 49 drivers. Strong showings in the heats paved the way for a ninth place finish in the final, with Jehan setting the fastest lap along the way.
