Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence might reunite with her "Hunger Games: Mockingjay" director, Francis Lawrence for an espionage movie.

Jennifer, 25, is circling "Red Sparrow", an adaptation of Jason Matthews' espionage novel that is being set up at 20th Century Fox, reported Deadline.

No deal is put in place just yet, but she is expected to reunite with Francis, who directed her in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2".

It was previously reported during the San Diego Comic-Con that Francis was eying involvement in the action thriller.

The filmmaker is apparently now close to signing a deal for the project, which once had David Fincher and Rooney Mara as potential helmer and female lead respectively.

"Red Sparrow" is set in contemporary Russia and centres on a state intelligence officer named Dominika Egorova, who is assigned against her will to become a "Sparrow," a trained seductress in the service.

During her first assignment, Dominika strikes up a relationship with her mark, a CIA officer named Nathaniel Nash, and in a charged atmosphere of trade craft, deception, and inevitably, a sexual attraction threatens their careers and the security of America's most valuable mole in Moscow.

Justin Haythe is tapped to re-write a script by Eric Warren, while Steven Zaillian and Garrett Basch are on board as producers.
