Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez has signed on to join actors Antonio Banderas and Martin Sheen in 'The 33', which is based on the rescue of 33 Chilean miners after 69 days in 2010.
The film will mark Lopez's first big-screen role since starring opposite Jason Statham in this year's action-thriller 'Parker', the Hollywood Reporter said.
Mike Medavoy is producing the ensemble film while 'La Misma Luna' fame Patricia Riggen is directing from a screenplay written by Mikko Alanne and Jose Rivera.
