Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain has revealed she and her roommate used to raid Pottery Barn's dumpsters for furniture to decorate their home when they were college students.
The 37-year-old 'Interstellar' star shared a small apartment with fellow actress Jess Weixler and a mouse when they were studying, and the pair would salvage damaged items from their local Pottery Barn store because they didn't have enough cash to buy anything new, reported E! online.
Recalling her days living with Jess on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', Chastain said, "We lived in a very teeny, tiny apartment with another girl and us and a mouse that wouldn't go away. We furnished it all from Pottery Barn, but with the stuff they would throw away.
"I don't know how we figured it out but every Tuesday night, they would throw stuff away but in order to do that, they would destroy it first to make sure people wouldn't go and, you know, get all the stuff out of the dumpster. We didn't like that, they would stab a chair and we would just put a blanket over it and carry it home," she said.
