Jet Airways former executive director Saroj Datta passed away in Mumbai yesterday.
The airline's chairman Naresh Goyal today condoled his death saying he was a doyen of the aviation industry with his unmatched knowledge and understanding.
"Saroj was the founding member of Jet Airways and his vision and commitment helped Jet Airways grow and become India's premier international airline," Goyal said in a statement.

Datta, 79, who also worked for the national carrier Air India, was a part of the core team which launched the Jet Airways in 1993 and retired from the position of its executive director in 2011.
