Jet Airways shares gain over 4%

Shares of Jet Airways rose by over 4 per cent today even as broader market fell due to continued capital outflows.

The stock closed at Rs 439.75 on the National Stock Exchange, a gain of 4.31 per cent over previous close.

On the BSE, the stock surged by 5 per cent before closing at Rs 437.10, a gain of 3.43 per cent over last close.

The benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 78.64 points or 0.29 per cent to close at 26,908.82.

The airline yesterday said that it will operate 12 additional flights to Ahmedabad for providing better connectivity to delegates, especially from the Gulf region, during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
 

In terms of volume, 8.52 lakh shares of the company changed hands at the BSE, while over 36 lakh shares were traded at the NSE during the day.

The additional flights would be from Delhi and Mumbai for the global investors' summit scheduled from January 11-13.

Jet Airways has been a travel partner of the summit for the last six editions.

These flights would be in addition to the regular daily flights that the carrier operates to Ahmedabad from the two cities.
