Jet shareholders okay appointment of new independent director

Jet Airways today said its shareholders have approved appointment of Srinivasan Vishvanathan as an independent director on its board.

To clear the appointment, the private carrier held an extra-ordinary general meeting here today, the airline said in exchange filings.

The airline currently has 9,439 shareholders but only 76 public shareholders took part in the voting. The promoter group was represented by two shareholders, it added.
