Five unidentified persons today barged in the house of a jeweller and looted belongings of over crores of rupees after holding his family members hostage, police said.
The incident took place at around 6 AM when five armed persons barged in the house of jeweller Umesh Verma in Kankar Tola at Baradari area here and held his family members hostage, SP City Rajiv Malhotra said.
They robbed the family of belongings of over crores of rupees, he said.
The exact amount of loot could not be ascertained yet, the SP said, adding, Verma owns a number of jewellery showroom in the city.
