A jeweller was allegedly threatened by two unidentified men, who also opened fire with a motive to loot his shop in Chattatale, police said today.

Sheikh Mohhamad Mohsin was closing his shop last night when two motorbike borne miscreants, wearing masks, attacked and tried to loot his shop, they said.

Their attempt was foiled as Mohsin had put all the jewellery in his safe. They fled the spot with two mobile phones of the staff members and cash of Rs 200, police said.

A fired cartridge was recovered from the spot, they said.

An FIR has been registered in this connection and investigation is underway, police said.
