Jewellery shop staffer murdered

A 29-year-old jewellery shop

staffer was murdered by unknown persons in the city, police said today.

The victim, identified as Anilkumar Shukwal, was found dead with his throat slit last night inside a common room he shared with four persons, in a housing society complex here, said senior Inspector of Thane Nagar police station D P Boraste.

The victim is the native of Rajasthan, he said, adding Shukwal shared the room with four others.

"Last night he was alone at the room while his roommates were away. When they returned home, they saw Shukwal lying in a pool of blood with his throat slit and stab injuries on his body," police said.
 

Police recovered a sum of Rs nine lakh and some golden ornaments from the room and investigating CCTV footage.

A case under section 302 (murder) of IPC r/w section 34 is registered against unknown persons, Boraste said.
