Jewellery worth Rs 1.4 cr stolen in Gurgaon

Jewellery worth Rs 1.4 crore was allegedly stolen by a manager from a leading multi-brand store here, police said today.

The theft came to light last week when Diti Jewellers's manager and in-charge of stores across Delhi NCR, Vishal Luthra went missing with jewellery worth Rs 1.4 crore from a Shoppers Stop store here, a company release said.

The accused had been working with the company for four years, it said.

Repeated efforts to locate the absconding accused and his family went in vain following which the company lodged a complaint at the DLF Phase II Police Station on May 11.
 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deepak Sharan said that the matter is under investigation and police would soon trace the culprit.
