The owner of a jewellery shop and an worker reached the shop at about 8.30 to open it carrying the ornaments and the money when the gunmen attacked and robbed them.
Taking jewelleries home from shop at night and returning with them in the morning is a normal practice among jewellers here.
The looters fled the spot in motorbikes with the booty, the sources said.
