Jharkahdn agang arrested in Odisha

Four members of a

Jharkhand-based gang were arrested and a country made revolver was seized from them in Sundergarh district of Odisha, police said today.

The four, who belong to a gang called Pahadi Cheetah were picked up from two separate places of Talsara area in an operation by the police yesterday.

The police action came after some businessmen in the area received extortion calls from the gang, Sundargarh police superintendent R Prakash said.

As per police plan two businessmen were sent to a jungle to meet the gang members and soon two of them reached Rasipatra village near Talsara. They were arrested by the police, who were lying in wait.
 

During interrogation the two miscreants revealed that the mastermind of the gang and his brother were at nearby Lakrakera village. The two were then arrested by the police.

The mastermind of the gang was also allegedly involved in a murder earlier this year, Prakash added.
