The Jharkhand Cabinet today passed a resolution condoling the death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Chaired by Chief Minister Raghubar Das, the Cabinet meeting expressed deep condolences on behalf of the 3.25 crore people of the state, according to an official release.
The resolution said the passing away of Vajpayee had hurt the people of the state and the country.
Recalling Vajpayees achievements and contribution, it said Jharkhand "would forever remain indebted to him as he was the creator of Jharkhand," which was carved out of Bihar on November 15, 2000, the release said.
The resolution extended sincere condolences to the family of Vajpayee, who passed away on August 16, the release added.
