Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today distributed land documents among forest dwellers and other tribals of Pakur district at Dumaria panchayat in Litipara block, one of the ten backward blocks of the country.

Das gave away 74 'pattas (land documents)' to the beneficiaries under the Forest Rights Act, an official release said here.

Ten persons also got benefits under the 'Mukhya Mantri Laxmi Ladli Yozana.'

Giving away Rs 86 lakh under various other welfare schemes for the block, Das said Litipara has been adopted by the Centre for its all round develoment.

Stating that the block has only 32 per cent literacy rate, the Chief Minister called for its transformation into an ideal block.

Committing to developing the Santhal Paragana region comprising six districts, Das said people's grievances would be resolved if they contacted him over phone (no. 181), a new initiative by the BJP-led government in the state.

He said medicated mosquito nets would be distributed to the people in Litipara by next month, the release said.

Social Welfare Minister Louis Marandi, local MLA Anil Murmu and other senior officals were present on the occasion.
