Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today suggested that funds spent under social responsibility of different companies should be made available to the state to spend as per its priorities, particularly developing infrastructure in the most backward villages.

The suggestion came during his meeting with Union Steel and Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar here, an official release said.

Reiterating that development is required to rooting out extremism, Das said there are several villages where people are very poor and require water and spread of education.

He said it was very much necessary to spend the funds in developing infrastructure in such villages.

The release, however, did not specify whether Das' suggestion meant for only public sector CSR funds.
