Wielding the broom, Chief Minister Raghubar Das today cleaned the streets of tribal-populated Karamtoli locality here as part of the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' just after taking oath as the head of BJP-Ajsu coalition.
"We began Swachh Bharat Abhiyan," Das said at a media conference, adding he and his ministerial colleague C P Singh went to Karamtoli to begin the mission.
Das, the first non-tribal Chief Minister of the state, went to Karamtoli straight after taking oath as the head of BJP-Ajsu coalition during the day.

During his visit to Karamtoli, the Chief Minister said he found out that elders in the area were not getting pension and other benefits under the social welfare schemes.
Das said he has directed the departments concerned to review and submit a report in the next cabinet meeting pertaining to difficulties faced by the elderly people in getting benefits under social welfare schemes.
