A court here awarded life imprisonment to a man on Wednesday for murdering a person nearly
18 years ago.
Palamau District and Sessions Judge Devendra Kumar Pathak found Mukesh Choubey guilty of killing Ajay Singh.
Choubey attacked Singh on October 24, 2000 and the latter died during treatment. Singh was a resident of Nagar Untari in the neighbouring Garhwa district.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 24,000 on Choubey and if he doesn't pay the amount, he has to undergo an additional six months simple imprisonment.
