Jharkhand govt announces Rs 5 crore relief for J&K

The Jharkhand government today decided to provide Rs five crore as relief for flood-affected Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the relief fund after flagging off three trucks carrying 40,000 blankets for the flood victims of J&K.

He also appealed to the government employees to donate a day's salary for the relief work in the state which witnessed the worst floods in more than a century.

"I appeal to the government employees to donate a day's salary for the victims of the furious calamity," an official release said quoting Soren.

He also appealed to everyone to come forward with assistance as per their capability.
