Jharkhand govt to give Rs five lakh to slain jawan's family

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced that the state government would give Rs five lakh to the family members of a CRPF jawan who was one of those massacred by Maoists in Chhattisgarh.

The jawan was identified as Ashish Kumar Singh, who was from Garhwa district of Jharkhand.

The government initially announced that it would give Rs two lakh to the family but later increased the amount to Rs five lakh, an official release said.

At least 25 CRPF personnel were killed by Maoist ultras in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district yesterday.
