Jharkhand Guv calls for need for quality education

Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu today underscored the need for quality education as efficiency was key to establish one's own identity in the society.

Addressing the gathering of students and faculty at the 1st Graduation Day of Jamshedpur Women's College here, Murmu said academic degree was not a success but efficiency was the key for one to develop his own identity in the society and its required quality education.

Highlighting the importance of moral and discipline in life, she asked graduating students to set their goal and work hard to achieve it.

Referring to the achievements of Indian shuttler P V Sindhu and Wirestler Sakshi Malik in the ongoing Rio Olympic games and International Boxer Aruna Mishra, an Inspector rank officer here, the governor said women are no more helpless now and gaining its due place in the society.
 

The girls should be "beautiful and soft like a lotus" but needed to be bold when required, Murmu said while asking the students to learn the art of self-defence.

Among other, Kolhan University Vice-Chancellor R P P Singh and the Principal of Jamshedpur Women's College Dr. Shukla Mohanty also spoke on the occasion.

Murmu also gave away the gold medal to meritorious students in all streams including Schience, Commerce and Arts.
