Hearing a petition filed by advocate Mithilesh Singh on behalf of the Bar Association of Jharkhand (BAJ), the division bench of Chief Justice Prakash Tatia and Justice Jaya Roy also asked the state to build a boundary wall around the acquired land at the earliest.
The BAJ filed the petition as a law university was proposed to come up on 227 acre in Nagari, about 20 km from here, acquired by the government in 1956/7.
The next date of hearing was fixed on July 16.
The high court had earlier rejected a petition filed by a group of residents belonging to the village challenging acquisition of land for educational institutions.
On July 4, the boundary wall had been pulled down and Superintendent of Police (Ranchi Rural) A V Minz had been one of the several injured persons in the clash between police and villagers.
