Legislators of Jharkhand Assembly today planted saplings while Governor Droupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Raghubar Das renewed their appeals to the people to make the ongoing plantation of one crore saplings a success by July 31.
As the MLAs planted at the designated spots in the premises of upcoming building that would house the state assembly here by 2019, Murmu called upon them to set an example by planting saplings in their respective areas that would inspire the people of the state having abundant natural resources underneath the ground and greenery on surface.
The Chief Minister described the day as historic and added that the state government was seriously pondering over to identify such places in every district where people could plant saplings after the names of their ancestors.

Leader of the opposition Hemant Soren and several other leaders were present during the plantation programme, an official release said.
