Jharkhand House passes second supplementary demands of Rs

Jharkhand Assembly today passed the second supplementary demands of Rs 2761.41 crore by voice vote amidst din by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLAs over the issue of land acquisition law and domicile policy.

The supplementary budget, which was tabled yesterday, was passed on the third day of the winter session of the state Assembly.

Amidst din by the JMM MLAs, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Saryu Roy, today presented the supplementary demands for discussion and the House rejected the cut motion moved by Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) MLA Pradip Yadav and passed the demands by voice vote.

The supplementary budget includes the highest demand for Home, Jail and Disaster Management departments for Rs 584.98 crore.
 

The supplementary demands consists of Rs 251.03 crore demand for energy department, Rs 292.22 crore for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare departments, Rs 183.12 crore for Drinking Water and Sanitation departments, Rs 377.79 crore for Urban Development, Rs 176.63 crore for Water Resources and Rs 118.60 crore for School Education and Electricity departments.

Earlier, opposition JMM did not allow the question hour in the morning on the second consecutive day forcing Speaker Dinesh Oraon to adjourn the House in the morning session.

Later, when the House reassembled at 12.45 pm, the protest by the JMM MLAs continued and the House was adjourned till 2 PM.

The Speaker again adjourned the House till 3 pm following din created by JMM MLAs.

The legislative works were taken up after the resumption of the House at 3 PM before being finally adjourned till tomorrow.
