Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu today said the state is at second spot after Gujarat in the growth rate in the country.
Unfurling the tri-colour at the Republic Day function here, Murmu said the state governments commitment of fulfilling peoples aspirations and dedicated works has put Jharkhand at second spot after Gujarat in the growth rate in the country.
There are many areas which are not only being appreciated but also other states are following them, she said.

The state government is giving special attention on infrastructure with extensive progress in the electricity sector while road condition in the state is much better than earlier, the governor said.
To develop industries and attract investments, she said the state had held Momentum Jharkhand, 2017, Jharkhand Mining Show and Global Mines and Minerals Summit, 2017 successfully.
The state government is also working on setting up IT industries, Bio Technology Park, Software Technology Park, Infotech City, IT Park, the governor said.
To take benefits of development to the last person, the state government has taken several initiatives like Johar Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Swasthya Yojana, Antyodaya Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana, she said.
The Johar Yojana is aimed at to double the income of two lakh rural families. This yojana has priority for ST/SC and fifty per cent of women farmers would also benefit under the scheme, Murmu said.
Under the National Food Security Act, 57 lakh families would be benefited, which comprises 80 per cent of the states population, she said.
Murmu said that the state government is doing all possible efforts to empower the women socially, economically and politically.
Under the Rashtriya Grameen Ajivika (self-employment) Mission, Murmu said 1,13,969 Sakhi Mandals have been set up so far and they would be given employment opportunities.
The 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana, Mukya Mantri Laxmi Ladli Yojana and Tejaswini Yojana would help the girls in the state, she said.
Stating that the state is making efforts to take everyone along the development journey, she said the government is committed to the welfare, social and economic, of the SC/ST, other weaker sections, children, divyang and elderly persons.
Primitive tribes are getting pension under the Adim Janjati Pension Yozana, she said.
The state government has also taken steps in primary, secondary, higher and technical education areas, the governor said.
To prevent migration, efforts are on to recruit in the vacant government services, she said.
Conducive atmosphere should be created by forgetting socio-political differences to bring smile on every ones face, the governor added.
